Client Onboarding: What Else Do You Do?

Posted by DangerousMisguided on August 10, 2024 at 10:46 pm

    Hey all,

When onboarding a new client, besides the basics like adding their billing infos to their Google account and setting up GA4 access, what else do you do? I'm looking to refine my process and would love to hear any tips or tricks you’ve found helpful.

    Thanks!

Making sure they have access in Google Search Console to the search data associated with their property. Also create an Organization in Google Marketing Platform and give them access.

Visualizing account performance on a spreadsheet or on looker studio: Clients need a vivid and a story behind data report to act, to advise them for next move.

I think going through every metrics is a waste of time. I saw many piers they went through every data they could access for their clients(WoW CPC, WoW ctr, WoW CPM..etc). Clients were overwhelmed by data, and were trying to understand them, so they keep reaching out for more information

If they need further details, you can add them up only after they bring it up.

In this way, you can manage clients’ attention and manage your workload at the same time.

Audit their tracking and set up enhanced conversions, offline uploads if they’re not utilizing that already. Gives me a clear picture of whats working & what isn’t for lead gen clients.

Ask them all the things you need to make a good strategy, their AOV, LTV, CAC, current business health, USPs, breakeven ROAS, Expected ROAS, competitors, promos/offers, demographics, psychographics, budget, goals, KPIs, assets, pain points, advertising on any other platforms, branding guidelines, and so much more. It depends on what all you need to make a good marketing strategy.

    Cheers!
