  • Case from Instagram

Hello everyone, I ask your advice!
    I have this situation.
I have: an Instagram account with 20k followers. Audience alive, good, high level of engagement.
Let me clarify right away: there were no forbidden actions, frauds and other things on the account.
But instagram does not show reels of new audience. Only to followers of the account itself. It does not show by hashtags either. Apparently, it’s a shadow ban for external audience. What to do in this case? How to get out of it? How can it be that the audience of the account content is shown, they comment, like, save, but it goes no further.
    Please help!

I’m sorry to hear about your situation. It’s frustrating when your content is not being seen by a wider audience, especially when you’ve been following the rules. There are a few things you can try to try to lift the shadow ban on your account:

Check that you are following Instagram’s Community Guidelines and terms of service. Make sure you are not posting any prohibited content or engaging in any prohibited behavior.

Try using hashtags that are relevant to your content and not excessively used. Overusing hashtags or using prohibited hashtags can result in a shadow ban.

Engage with your followers and other users on the platform. Like and comment on other people’s posts and participate in discussions. This can help show Instagram that your account is a valuable and active part of the community.

Reach out to Instagram directly. You can report a problem through the app or through the Instagram Help Center. Provide as much information as possible about your account and the issue you are experiencing.

It’s also worth noting that Instagram periodically updates its algorithms, which can affect the visibility of certain accounts. If you have been following the guidelines and have not made any significant changes to your account, it’s possible that the issue may resolve on its own over time.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

First of all, stop relying on hashtags to grow. They are just for categorizing your content, nothing else. Even the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri said that in a video about hashtags.

Talking about your content not being shown to the new audience. So create a reel and while posting it, turn off – share to feed. So it will be pushed to the newer audience only.

Plus, if your reach is down, stop using Instagram for like 2-3 days, and come back again. It will work as a reset, bcoz Instagram want you to be present on the platform

Connect with your audience as well, Idk what’s your niche, can’t really tell about the theme pages tbh, however, connecting with the new audience is always something that you should be doing on regular basis. Engage with your targeted audience and connect with them.

    Good luck! 🙂

I think that eventually Instagram is pushing for content discovery, so basically as a consumer your feed is showing more reels from accounts you don’t follow. Users also spend more time scrolling on the reels discovery feed so they spend more time on the app but less time checking what their friends. Had the same issue too the last couple of weeks.

Would recommend trying to grow on other platform too because Instagram algorithm is really unpredictable so are other social media feeds but at least not all the eggs are in the same basket.
