  • Can paying for IG ads increase your ranking on the algorithm / engagement rate?

Posted by seohelper on April 29, 2020 at 12:29 pm

Yesterday I spent £2 on my latest post just to get it a few more likes and impressions in hope that the lacking stats on my comeback post (was shadowbanned before so i was offline for 2wks) dont cause me to rank lower on the algorithm and have less of my followers see my content. Would the ad gaining the post increased stats change anything to do with that?

I haven’t done any proper ads yet I just did that small amount to increase the numbers on that post as they were lacking for some reason

Some occasionally see a bit of a boost in organic after doing a bit of paid, as it allows their content more viewership outside their immediate audience. But it’s generally temporary at best.

It’s a smart move to advertize after a shadowban. You’ll experience a small boost, but organic traffic comes more from consistent posting. Watch out for repetitive use of the same hashtags OP.

The algorithm bumps up posts from accounts that a user already interacts with. For brands and creators, this means that focusing on community engagement is key.

Paying for ads can help but consistency is what will keep your audience engaged since the engagement rate (authentic) is what the algorithm favors.

    It’s a myth, works sometimes.
