    Brand campaign on Target CPA?

Posted by Adorable_Sky7859 on February 11, 2023 at 8:36 am

    Hi everyone,
Got a Google Ads account where Brand campaigns are using Max conversion with or without Target CPA.

From my experience eCPC or Target Impr. Share would usually work the best. But in this case I’m seeing a lot of competition that bids on brand very aggressively.

It seems that Max Conversion and/or Target CPA just wastes a lot of budget but at the same time doesn’t seems that eCPC would be a good option with competitors clearly using automated bidding anyway.

The client has very strict CPA targets for brand so Target impression share seems like not the right fit either.

Which strategy do you think would makes sense to test? Have you had experience with Max conversion or Target CPA for brand search?

    Any advice is appreciated!

Would set up a campaign experiment and test against manual CPC.
That usually does better on brand with lower CPA compared to smart bidding.

Why would you have a strict target CPA for brand? The CPA should be so low as to be irrelevant. If it isn’t, you’re probably running the account wide open and accidentally buying a bunch of non brand queries.
