  • Big collaboration isn’t getting me new followers

Hi everyone, first post here 🙂

A much larger profile (IG and FB) recently started buying comedy content from me (sketches and weekly comedy news) regularly. Every time they post something of mine, they link to my profile as well – an awesome additional perk, in theory. But: while my content gets great responses on their account, I get 0 new followers.

What could be the reason for this? If people like my stuff, they could get much more in that vein if they also followed me…? My client couldn’t be promoting me more than they already are.

Thanks in advance! I’d love to get this rolling…

I think one way to combat this is to provide incentive as to why people should go to your profile to begin with. Individuals can be lazy so if they know they’re getting content from a source, then why jump to another one.

One thing you could do is perhaps create a 2 part comedy sketch and end the first one on a cliffhanger and have part 2 only on yours. I’ve seen youtubers do this all the time whenever collaborations happen. It forces the viewer to jump ship if they want to feel satisfied. Then from there, your own content should hopefully reel followers in.

Either that or just have your promoters straight up say “Hey check this guy out for more… etc”

    Best of luck though!

Might need to think about the Call To Action. Rather than the ‘Now go to this other channel’ maybe you should be thinking about cross platform (retweet?). Ive been seeing a lot of tiktok channels use come back tomorrow for pt2.

Is there any CTA in the actual video content? A majority of users will skip over captions completely, especially on quickly consumed funny content.

Can I see? Their account and yours. Maybe I can see something you aren’t

Post one good joke, then start the second joke and leave the viewers hanging with a call to action “Tap @yourname” to see how it ends. Sounds scammy, but it will work! I am a social media marketers and an influencer. Trust me.
