Backlink Boo-Boo
Just a trap for young players (me) which I thought I’d share in case anyone else is as silly as me, drunk or was dropped as a child.
Was advised from a fellow with a very black hat to begin link ‘silos’ or link ‘chassis’. Basically linking to main page, all sun domains, blogs (and everything else) via Linktree, allmyFaves, Lasso, instapaper, hey link.me etc etc.
So I went along and linked to everything. It was Link Christmas. Dofollow link on Dofollow link…. Aaaand ranking started to go down.
I’ve hastily deleted all the links – should I disavow as well ? I think I created my own personal spammy PBN by doing this…

that’s a classic rookie mistake! Been there, chasing those sweet, sweet links.. Deleting them was a smart move.. As for disavowing, it’s probably unnecessary unless there’s a manual action in GSC.. Google’s good at ignoring spammy links now. Focus on quality content and natural links moving forward….
