Auto apply recommendations, good for anything?

Posted by Silverlake77 on March 13, 2023 at 8:21 pm

Is it best to have literally all of them turned off?
I’ve got a few running on auto like removal of redundant keywords, strategic bidding ect.
Should I turn them all off?

Sometimes you’ll get an OK ad copy suggestion or a reasonable CPA target. Those are things to look at, never auto apply They are ok for alert type things, conflicting keywords, etc. Other than that I totally ignore everything.

There are no recommendations I can think of that would be good to have on auto-apply. I might have argued that removing non-serving keywords could be a good one in the past. But I’ve seen where Google recommends removing keywords that doesn’t make sense, so nix that one too.

It takes seconds to review and approve or dismiss recommendations. It can take hours to reverse engineer when an auto-applied recommendation kills your performance. The choice is easy.
