Are pinterest and tumblr still worth?
Posted by Infisign_Inc on July 17, 2024 at 12:32 pmI'm considering creating profiles on pinterest and tumblr. Are they still alive and thriving, or are they past their prime? What are your thoughts and experiences with using pinterest and tumblr? Is it worth it?

GuestJuly 17, 2024 at 12:48 pmI still use them both and they’re still fun! If you desire social/idea sharing platforms that aren’t as depressing and political i think they’re a great escape from that.

GuestJuly 17, 2024 at 2:24 pmPinterest has been showing a major comeback with their engagement levels and usage. Their ads are much better and my clients are now getting hits from Pinterest

GuestJuly 17, 2024 at 2:28 pmDepends what it’s for. If it’s just for personal use, go for it – I’m on both of them and thoroughly enjoy them, more than any of sm app. If it’s for business or influencing, what kind of business/influencing?

GuestJuly 17, 2024 at 2:29 pmAny time I need a recipe, nail art inspiration, or new hair style ideas – Pintrest! I haven’t pinned much new stuff lately but this is one of the most fun and creative apps imo.

GuestJuly 17, 2024 at 3:08 pmI still personally use Tumblr and am considering getting into Pinterest. Are they still useful for *professional* purposes? I kinda doubt it.

GuestJuly 17, 2024 at 3:26 pmWe made a Pinterest account – but we never do much with it. And we just never made a tumblr account, doesn’t seem worth it

GuestJuly 17, 2024 at 3:44 pmPinterest, yes!
Just a little money thrown into advertising has yielded a lot of followers, re-pins, clicks etc.
I threw like $5 at a post for a day, set up the keywords and it initially got like 20k eyeballs, and 5 repins.
Now, that said once the pin got repinned, I didn’t have to spend another dime. It got into circulation, so to speak, and now is on a 100+ boards and get hundreds/thousands of eyeballs a month.Stay way from instagram, absolutely no bang for your buck. It’s 100% pay to play. The second your advertising ends, they bury you again. And whatever you do NEVER declare yourself a business on IG, they’ll triple bury you unless you pay.
Should clarify that I’m a professional illustrator and designer, so YMMV depending on what you’re using for.

GuestJuly 17, 2024 at 3:59 pmI use both platforms. Tbh I don’t think I quite understand either platform just yet (since my posts don’t do particularly well), but I still enjoy using them as the interactions that I’ve gotten so far have been both kind and supportive.
My only complaint is that bots/ scammers do try to message you on tumblr!
