App install campaigns in Google Ads was never working.

They charge money for clicks that don't go to the play store page. When you try to preview the ad, you see a bad url. Support is useless. I suggest anyone to preview the ad and see if it has this bad URL. And stop using them.

This is an intermediate preview page that confirms your click can be successfully recorded by Google. This preview page will not be seen when served live on publisher sites. Instead, a click will be recorded by our servers and then immediately redirected to the destination page.
    Destination URL: http://www.google.com/gen_204?reason=EmptyAdURL"

It sounds like you’re encountering an issue with the preview URL, but this isn’t actually the URL users see when the ad is live. That preview URL you’re seeing is just an internal Google page that tracks the click before redirecting to the correct destination. When the ad runs live, users will be taken directly to your Play Store page, not the intermediate page you see in the preview.

If you’re still concerned, you can run a test by setting up a small-budget campaign and monitoring the actual traffic and installs coming from the ad. This will give you a better sense of whether the clicks are going to the correct page.
