Hi guys.
I do some social media managing for a small retail store as a side hustle. In my full time professional capacity, I do media planning and buying.
Have managed this retail store’s Instagram page for a bit more than 6 months now. Have noticed that organic posts get on average 15-21 likes. When I took over the page, it was like so but I thought maybe with time and more frequent posting, it would get better. Turns out the algo has changed that much.
Nowadays, even when I post promotional content, I get 15 likes or so. Which is weird. And bad.
Part of what I do in my full time job is of course setting up paid media ads and most times it’s using my client’s organic content.
I suggested that solution to the retail store but am wondering which objective I should go with.
Awareness is definitely the clearcut go-to. But would engagement work as well?
Basically what I’m asking is… Since the organic algorithm shows your organic content to people who always view/interact with your organic content, would paying to have more people interact with your organic content eventually result in a bigger pool of people who would be served your organic content?
