GuestMay 11, 2020 at 2:15 amI work for a full service agency and we didn’t lose any clients. A handful paused campaigns but they’re all slowly coming back on.

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 2:29 amRun a digital marketing agency (PPC, SEO, etc) added 5 new customers (SaaS, telecom, web development), and lost 3 customers (retail, tourism and restaurant) essentially paused their ad spend.
Tourism client already said they are unable to pay Feb, March invoices…

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 2:41 amLone-wolf affiliate marketer here. My ROI has almost doubled and my revenue/spend has increased 5-fold. I started promoting offers for things to assist working from home, entertainment, etc.

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 2:47 amLost three clients added one. Working for free for regional restaurant chain and local restaurant. My legal and mortgage clients are crushing it. Service business are unchanged. One of the three lost was a huge medical company that really hurt and stopped paying invoices.

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 3:04 amDigital agency. 80% paused or quit. Of that half are already talking about turning back on soon. I’ve signed 3 new clients in April. 2 are higher ed. 1 is SEO for a chain restaurant.

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 3:26 amNo new clients and haven’t lost any; strong contracts have helped this. What we did lose was opportunity, all of the conferences/events that help us get in front of prospective brands, as you know , were cancelled.

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 4:45 amLost none, added 2. All of my clients are e-com so that helps! Aside from one client, all of them got very strong performance. I am a FT freelancer.
Also got a ton of prospects who started to contact me but none of them ended up being serious. (Aside from the 2 I mentioned above) Lots of tire kickers.
The first week of the pandemic, I maybe got 4 prospects contacting me which very rarely happens. All of them wanted to start ASAP and I have literally never heard back. Their job post expired on Upwork and they ended up hiring no one.April has been the exact same. I believe that I got invited to at least 10 job postings. Not a single client was serious.
May seems a little better so far… I tend to turn down any prospect now unless they really seem serious about work. People are bored out there and don’t mind spending time interviewing people for nothing. A big waste of my time. Thankfully I just chat online with most of them but I also ended up in calls with others for a good hour only to realize that they didn’t have any money to spend…

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 7:21 amYeah. Lost around 50% of clients and the majority of the remaining clients reduced retainers. It’s tough out there atm in agency land.
Because of the above and a fear of redundancy I recently scored a gig in house which is way more secure.
It honestly feels like agencies will have to adapt / evolve after this and I really hope they do!

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 9:23 amGladly, we did not lose any client. Although some of our clients suffered major declines in their revenue and we also compensated them in our invoices, so they’re all still working with us and are now trending the right way again.
And we also on-boarded a couple of new clients too.

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 10:28 amWe’ve lost a few clients due to normal churn. We have quite a few that have suspended campaigns out of necessity, i.e. cannot provide their products/services. And we have some with reduced budgets or running on fewer ad platforms. Lastly, we have a few clients spending much more than usual due to high demand for their products.
Some suspended clients have already started to come back or are planning to come back soon.
Yes, we have signed a couple of new clients.

GuestMay 11, 2020 at 5:23 pmI’ve been killing it lately, lost a couple of deals but my referral channel has been doing well. Helps that I’m in an essential niche.

GuestMay 12, 2020 at 12:48 amThe higher education wants ppc and paid social. The chain restaurant wants SEO. We don’t build websites, but I’ve been talking to a number of ppl who are interested in getting a website overhaul while business is slow.
