AdWords for car detailing? Is my model good to go?

Posted by elecsho on October 13, 2022 at 2:01 am

I’m testing the waters with this new campaign for auto detailing.

    – Search campaign
    – No display network.
    – Only related keywords.
    – No negative keywords.
    – Goal: More Leads.
    – Links to an appealing landing page.
    – Each click on book button is recorded as conversion.
    – Bid strategy: maximize conversion.
    – Geo targeting local area only for obvious reasons.

    What would you change/add?

Every campaign should have a negative keyword list. If you can’t think of any use the all search term link to find the non viable Close variants once you launch.

    Just remember –
death, taxes and nonsensical close variants. whether it be ‘brush’ or ‘hose’ or ‘supplies’ – they will be there.

Looks good! My one bit would be to use a conversion tag on your Thank You page (so, post form fill) as your conversion goal. A little more solid than a CTA click.

I freelance on the side. Feel free to DM me if you’d like to setup a meeting to review your account. I can send you my Fiverr page.

I’d also add the extensions such as locations and calls

Is it possible to share the ad copy, and your landing page?

Best practice currently is using Max Conversion Value these days if you can. Build multiple conversions events (can even be as simple as viewing about us page, or spending time on your services pages etc) and assign comparative values. Even better is if you can upload your conversions (or leads) as manual conversion uploads (google it).

Add negative keywords to a negative keyword list to dump anything relevant in (recommend phrase match for negatives most of the time), and then just add that to all campaigns. Most smb accounts aren’t complex enough to require cascading structural negatives at the campaign/ad group level these days with conversion-based automated bidding doing its thing.

    Good luck!

Hmm? Does this target audience really search for an auto detailer?

It’s just my guess, although I may have an extremely focused search adgroup, but I would also really focus on creating a display ad that targets very specific car related website placements and or car enthusiast videos. Landing page would have a chat feature so i could answer questions concerns quickly, if you offer mobile detailing services I would have an appointment widget like [calendly.com](https://calendly.com). Price, location, convenience.

I would also capture all traffic that doesn’t bounce and or has a specific engagement conversion and add them to a remarketing list. I would run a remarketing campaign that follows these folks for about 30 days.
