Advice needed. A third party is migrating our website from Sitefinity to WordPress. I’m new to the company and need to know the best ways to check the quality of the work done for us.
Hi there, 28F here UK. Just joined a mid sized company who have contracted out work to migrate their site from Sitefinity to WordPress to a third party (site roughly 3000-ish pages).
I’d like to know the best way to check their work before they finish, hopefully using inexpensive tools. I’m thinking of using free trails of pro tools like SEMrush or screaming frog to identify any back-end issues that should have been part of the scope or are direct issues relating to the migration.
Does this seem like a good approach? Any tips people would advise on? What I should be specifically looking for to hold them accountable etc? Which tools to use, which issues to look out for?
I’m only a few days on the job and am doing on-boarding now so have been kept away from this project by management so don’t know the full details of the scope but can get answers, I will eventually be responsible for running the CMS.
I worry that the expertise does not exist in the company right now to know what to look for so this could get overlooked and I might inherit issues and the contract will come to an end soon-ish so want to hold them accountable now before they are off the hook.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
