Account suspended – what do I do next?

Posted by Stunning_Working8803 on October 1, 2022 at 8:56 am

I had a Google ad account set up when I was in Singapore and registered my business as a Singapore business while targeting the US consumer.

Then I set up another Google ad account (to benefit from ad credits) using another email address. Again, the business address is in Singapore while targeting the US consumer. But I am now in Taiwan and will be living here for the long term. The debit card used is the same as the previous ad account.

My payment profile (ie Google Pay account) then got suspended. I’m guessing it’s either because 1) the same debit card was used for 2 different accounts, or 2) it’s a Singapore business address and debit card I’m using, I’m targeting the US and Google tracked my location as being in Taiwan.

I was prompted for my ID and my bank statements. I provided my Singapore ID (with a Singapore home address), a personal bank statement (with my Singapore home address) and a company bank statement (with a Singapore business address).

The automatic email I received after filling in the form and submitting my details just said they have a large volume of submissions due to COVID and will take longer than usual to respond.

Google has yet to respond after 24 hours.

    What should I do next?

Go back to using the previous ad account with its functioning payment profile (even though it shares the same debit card as the suspended one)?

Give up on ever using Google ads?

    Would appreciate advice. Thanks!

It’s a nightmare, I had my account suspended in the past, due to adding my payment card to another account, at least that’s what I think was the reason as Google never actually gave me an answer.

I removed the same payment method from the other account and after sending an appeal around a week later the account was reinstated.

Communication was very slow and poor, and they wiped out my business for the week my account was suspended and then it took a few more weeks for my account performance to get back to where it was before the suspension.

Sorry I can’t advise you what to do, except for maybe removing anything in your account that could be against their TOS, good luck, hope you get it resolved.

I went through the exact same situation a few times and I know how challenging it was to go through the whole process. My company is incorporated in Singapore and I am currently accessing our ad accounts from India. I made the first ad account using my Singapore payment profile and it was suspended after adding the debit card to payment profile. I have appealed by attaching the latest business profile approved by ACRA and the account was reinstated within 30 mins since appeal was made. Using the same card, I created 7 more ad accounts and all of them were suspended after updating the payment profile. From my understanding, it happens either due to your debit/credit card being flagged by their system after the first suspension or IP address conflict. With reinstating accounts, I recovered most of them within a day or two. It took around 45-60 days for reinstating two accounts though. If you receive an email stating that their decision is final but you haven’t done anything suspicious, do repeated appeals until you get back your account.
