    Account Score & Dismissed Recommendations

Posted by CuzzaMC on December 19, 2022 at 4:58 pm

A Google Rep just confirmed to me that you now have 2 recommendation or ‘account’ scores. And dismissing recommendations doesn’t affect your account score. I.e. make it better.

Also – underlying account score now has an impact on your ad rank. (news to me)

I usually dismiss recommendations that aren’t relevant (mostly all of them). It’s annoying to hear suggestions such as adding irrelevant keywords to campaigns will affect my ad rank though.

Although I don’t buy into what she said too much. I imagine the impact is negligble.

    What are people’s thoughts?

I’d like to see confirmation of this somewhere. This seems like it would be a big deal, and I’ve definitely had reps in the past give me misleading info on quality score and which factors influence it.

I’m one of Google reps and I CAN’T confirm it. At least we have no updates on this at the moment. Truth is it’s quite the opposite of what I’m saying to my clients.
For instance how a GA4 can improve an ad rank? There is no way it can have a direct impact on the performance. However this recommendation often times has quite high percentage.
Another truth is that new reps know nothing about ad rank, quality score, impression share and everything that really matters. And it sucks to be honest.

These reps are getting repeatedly caught using high pressure sales tactics, lying, urging account owners to fire their agency/freelancer, and many other pathetic strategies to get you to tick the boxes they have to fulfil.

We’re seeing the effects of a MNC outsourcing at a ridiculous scale on quality, and I would advise that you don’t take these reps’ advice / threats with a pinch of salt, instead cure the whole thing in it.
