  • A group to help students and parents with math. Which social network is the best?

    Hello,

I am a math tutor (private) and I would like to open a group to help students and parents to understand math and help them with their exercises. The goal is to expand my potential clientele.

Which social network do you recommend?

    Thanks!

Insta. Start with daily basic math problems. Teach how to teach kids. Watch parents try and fail, once they get frustrated they’ll reach out to you.

It’s a group or a public channel to show your value?

If a public channel, I’d start on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, doing video content, and use a free site like Gumroad to make some basic free products and start an email list.

THEN maybe it’s a discord group that people pay small $ to be in, that gives them SOME extra direct access to you. This is great for long distance prospects, or people who are between “uninterested” and “qualified” or just for an option that gets revenue from more price sensitive parents.

In addition, I’d suggest a public subreddit that parrots the social feeds, and like them, funnels people towards the paid discord/paid products/ newsletter OR direct to lesson booking.

This is a cool idea, and I’m wondering how much revenue you might generate from new streams, ie people who would not be able to hire you as a tutor.

Lmk if you want more help with it!

Or come over to [r/demandmyths](https://reddit.com/r/demandmyths) and ask some follow up questions, this is very related to a post I was about to write over there.

I would say the first step is to create a strong online presence. This can include setting up a website, creating social media accounts, and using online directories to list your services.

Additionally, you should be sure to include your contact information, qualifications, and any specialties you may have. This will help potential clients find you and learn more about your services. If you wanna see fast result, consider laid advertising tools on IG for example. Or use a growth service like ascendViral to ensure you only get people who might be in need of your services.

Another way to attract more clients is to reach out to local schools and organizations. You can offer to give presentations or workshops, or even just provide information about your services. Additionally, you can attend local events and network with other tutors and educators. And, it is important to build relationships with your current clients.

This can include offering discounts for referrals or providing incentives for returning clients. Additionally, you should always stay in touch with your clients, even after the tutoring session has ended. This will help build trust and loyalty, which can lead to more clients in the future.

Facebook group and run paid ads targeting under 18 year olds for math support and assistance.

Hmm if you’re looking for a platform to expand on I would recommend Instagram or TikTok. If you’re trying to create a group to help folks who already know about your services I prefer Facebook and Discord for my online community spaces!
