    Hi there,

    I recently bought a domain.

As I audit the website using Ubbersugest, I find that there are hundreds of backlinks from chinese websites that lead nowhere linking to pages that do not exist on my domain.

Will this hurt my SEO ? If so what can I do about it.

Quite a SEO newbie here so bare with me.

    Thx

Edit : Thank you all for the good pieces of advise !

Nah you’re good. Google will ignore this. If you feel extra worried just disavow them.

Don’t worry, we have case with 100+ links from Vietnam sites a day. We disavowed all of them, but some day were tired of it and just let them go. No penalties from Google. So, ignore or disavow, in any case it’s not a big problem.

I was just reading up on bad inbound backlinks – seems like other folk think differently but for what it’s worth

“Among the most common triggers for a Google link penalty are unnatural outbound and inbound links. Unnatural links are also known as “harmful”, “spammy”, or, as we call them at SEMrush, “toxic”. Both inbound and outbound links can get your website penalized.”

Yah your good just keep them as 404 don’t redirect them. Bonus suggestion not really pertaining to this situation but one thing I would suggest though is that you scan your site for injected content. WordPress is pretty good at blocking this now but I have seen in the past where script injection has been used to put false links in your website that you can’t see on the front end.

I think uber suggest just has a shitty backlink checker. I see tonnes of weird links to my sites on there that I never see on Ahrefs or Semrush.

Probably nothing to worry about. If you can grab a free trial of Semrush you can get a better backlink overview for peace of mind

It all depends on the link profile, so hard to say. But even the bad links fuel SEO. If I were you, I would take care of acquiring valuable links so that I could change the profile of back links to a much better one.
