I’ve got this website recently who is having absolutely no organic traffic from last 2 years, how is it even possible? it doesn’t have no index tag as 15 of the website’s pages are getting index in google result page. also the website is live all the metas are updated with ample amount on content in the web pages, also blogs get updated 2 times a month but still no traffic, every week we make backlinks for it(might not be the best quality links but they work on other websites) i am working in SEO since a long time but i have never seen anything like this before. can it be development problem in backend or something else, Please care to provide your insights.

Does this website get any impressions on GSC?

0 traffic is suspicious. Even the worst content marketing plan will generate some organic traffic and it sounds like they’re not banned, at least in the normal sense.

My recommendation is to look at Search Console and see what keywords they’re getting impressions for, and work from there

What happens when you use a crawler like Screaming Frog? Do all URLs get crawled?

There is literally no way to answer this question. We have no insight into the condition of your site or strategy. 15 pages is a small site and the velocity at which those pages were created was extremely slow if it took 2 years. Also, who knows what keywords those pages are targeted at.

That said, GSC data is indicating that you’re getting clicks and impressions which means you’re getting some traffic that isn’t being tracked properly. GSC is sampled data so it normally under reports what you would see in GA. My money is that your tracking tag is fucked up so I would look into that first.

You can share the website details without the URL ie : ama-zon do-t com. Remove the hyphens…we can then likely provide more input

I’m really sorry that you’re going through this. I hope your website starts getting traffic soon.

There are a few possible reasons why the website is not getting organic traffic: low-quality backlinks, poorly optimized content, competition, indexing issues, and technical problems. To find the exact reason, a detailed analysis of the website is required.

    Or you can ask SEO-shaman)

This is either a problem with how you are tracking/measuring traffic, or the website is so truly awful no one wants to visit it.

When you say “0 incoming organic traffic” what exactly do you mean by that? Put it another way; in GA4, when you look at the “Traffic acquisition: Session default channel group” report for the last 90 days, what specifically do you see? If you’re not comfortable sharing numbers, at least provide a percentage breakdown of each channel group.

also, for the same 90 days, in GSC’s performance report, how many clicks does that show? My theory is that this is a measurement problem and not a website problem. Or, at least there are significant problems with how you are measuring things.
