Kinda wild that you can swap a title or thumbnail, and if it performs better, YouTube will actually push your video out again.

Feels like a big deal for smaller creators trying to grow… or is it just hype? Curious what you all think.

I think this is awesome. A/B testing is now in-built into YouTube.

Before this feature: YouTube would regularly show the same video (same thumbnail, same title) to 1 viewer. You might see it in your sub feed, then home page, then suggested. Back then, creators would manually go in and change their thumbnails and titles, trying to figure out what will pop off.

After this feature: YouTube still shows the same video to 1 viewer, but might switch up the title and thumbnail automatically, depending on how other viewers on the platform are engaging with the variants.

I, for one, love that this gives more data to creators on what actually captures attention.

Yeah exactly, I feel like all the MrBeast-style editing + thumbnail copycats might ride the wave for a bit, but sooner or later the algorithm’s gonna get tired of it and they’ll feel the consequences.
