    No. The only time there is even a remote chance of you seeing the vehicle described in the Amber Alert is when you are driving. And the last time I checked, you are not supposed to be fiddling with your phone while driving.

    While the Amber Alert system does have some limited amount of success, bear in mind that is probably far more likely due to the huge signs over freeways that broadcast the Alert. You look up, see the sign, and can read it fast.

    Keep the signs, lose the phone alerts.
