Would you agree with this statement re: Pmax Feed Only and negative keywords

Just wondering if "less is more" with negative keywords for a Pmax Feed Only shopping campaign (or really any Pmax Campaign type) with a tROAS. Reasoning is that the AI doesn't major in serving to cold/cold traffic like Standard Shopping. It tries to hit the tROAS.

We have 5+ years of history in Standard Shopping campaigns so 1000's of negative keywords. I'm just not sure we should put all those negative keywords in the campaign because it's overkill.

Maybe just look at our current Pmax campaign history and neg out the obvious keywords but keep it to a minimum. Let the AI do its work.

Any thoughts? Tks for the help!

Let the algo do its work. No negatives at all. More damage and extra work than benefits.

If something is irrelevant then add it as a negative keyword. You can have too many negative keywords for sure but no one can tell you if what you have is to much without looking at your ad account.

Yes, I’d agree that with PMax Feed-Only, “less is more” for negatives. Start with only the obvious, high-waste or compliance terms, then monitor search term insights to add as needed. Dumping in years of legacy negatives can block learning profitable queries the AI might discover.

Yes, keep negatives minimal in Pmax feed only. Apply only clear waste terms from current data, not your full historic list so the system has room to optimize toward your tROAS.
