why is growing on every platform so slow now
Posted by WannaBeQaisss on October 28, 2025 at 11:38 amactive on instagram, tiktok, and youtube shorts but all three have slowed down like crazy. i used to gain a few followers every day, now it’s basically flat. i’m still posting the same type of content, even improved my editing. do you guys think social media growth is just getting harder overall, or is it more about adapting to whatever new trend is going on right now?

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 11:41 amThere are more bots than people now. Bots don’t care about your content. People are sick of all the bots, AI bullshit, white supremacist memes and content (being promoted and protected), and ICE ads on social media so they use it less and they explore it less.
While you continue to work on improving your content, the front pages and features of every social media platform are being flooded with AI slop and extremist hate. You’re behind the power curve. 🤷♂️

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 11:47 amBecause they make more money if you grow slower and the platforms are now leveraging individuals with $1k budgets with corporations with $100m budgets.
If you could spend a bit of money and get a larger following, then everyone would have a ton of followers and wouldn’t want to spend money anymore.
If you are spending money, someone else is spending more, so you get less results per dollar spent.
If you’re posting, so are millions of other people, so your post isn’t being seen.
It’s a race to the bottom with the enshitification of social media, and we’re all contestants.

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 12:42 pmgrowth definitely slower now algorithms favor fresh formats and high engagement fast its less about consistency and more about adapting early to new trends or content styles.

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 2:16 pmIt combines both. At the same time that platforms are maturing (more creators plus the same amount of attention = slower average growth), the algorithm continues to move away from “good editing” and toward “fresh angles.” Consistency plus improvement is no longer sufficient; it must be something that feels new to click on in the feed.

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 3:05 pmPlatforms just keep tweaking algorithms to push new styles, so growth stalls if you don’t switch it up fast.

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 3:26 pmStrange! Personally, I created my TikTok account on October 10th and I’ve already gained 29.4k followers! It’s October 28th! Are you sure you’re posting interesting content?

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 3:28 pmI spent ages trying to grow my ig account too. Posting regularly, using hashtags, engaging with others, all that. I did try buying followers once through the service pathsocial, but just a small amount to give things a push. It actually worked fine as long as you don’t overdo it. Still, real engagement only came once I started mixing that with consistent posting and genuine interaction.

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 4:33 pmBots. Simple easy answer. A bot farm was just discovered and taken care of but it’s still a lot of bots across every website. OF models use bots, companies use bot to track and advertise, some people create more and more accounts just to push their own stuff such as art and music

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 4:47 pmSocial media use peaked in 2022 and has been declining ever since. Less people using social media + more people trying to be creators = slower growth.

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 4:53 pmbecause covid mentality is finally over and people are more interested in social spaces than social apps.
was always going to happen.
finding out about events at local businesses and conventions is still hot, just not lifestyle, memes, comedy, sports, or anything else you can do in real life without scrolling.

GuestOctober 28, 2025 at 6:12 pmIt depends on your niche- I tested 3 channels and one was evergreen and the only one gaining follower’s every day without even creating content was the evergreen YouTube channel
