  • Why do people with low quality tiktoks do better than me? (Need advice)

I know the title is a bit doom and gloom (I'm feeling a little low right now) but there's a lot of truth in the question, and I genuinely need help figuring this out.

I've been creating content and consistently streaming on TikTok for over a year, but I'm still not even at 400 followers. My videos almost never break 10 likes or 200 views. I'm now posting every day, combining stream clips, funny original videos, and the new text posts, and editing everything myself in CapCut and the TikTok editor.

The hardest part is seeing others' growth. I have people come into my chat who started three months ago with 5k followers. Worse, I see creators posting what appear to be low-effort, badly-shot videos with no clear entertainment value, yet they consistently get 50+ likes and have thousands of followers.

I feel like I have a pretty clear niche, and the small community I do have is dedicated and loyal. My agency has been no help, offering only cookie-cutter advice like "use hooks more."

I'm not planning on quitting, and I know it's a different speed for everyone, but I'm demotivated and genuinely don't know what I can change to improve.

Does anyone have any suggestions or fresh eyes they could offer?

For reference, my TikTok is Camma_IIX.

Looked through some clips on twitch, dont like TT, and its hard to understand anything your saying. Very quiet like asmr, more quiet than other streams. Need to remember posture and present yourself genuinely.

Don’t compare yourself to other people, just focus on you. There’s a squirrel plushie that twerks & dances and has 11M likes on TikTok. People like what they like and you will find your audience.

I scrolled through and here are my thoughts – they may sound harsh but I’m here to help ♥

    1) Is this the content that would make you stop in your scrolling to consume?
    2) Even though you have a mic – is it actually plugged in? The volume is SUPER SUPER quiet and was an immediate turnoff when I had to turn my volume on my phone WAY up to hear you when the rest of the TT videos on my feed were at an appropriate level
    3) Your account is not big enough that you can do a stitch of you reacting to someone and laugh and have the video do well. I say that with love – but no one is going to go “ooo, I wonder if OP will quietly giggle while watching a video someone else made.” You know?
    4) If you’re going to be streaming, you need to be narrating and be super dynamic with how you speak – you need to be describing what you’re doing, what your thoughts / feelings are about it. Streamer consumers aren’t watching you just play the game – they aren’t there for just that. They’re there for the personality as well.
    5) The text post about “the person who sent you this wants to replace your legs with jelly” made me go “jesus, yikes…..” and scroll past SUPER fast.
    6) Your account isn’t suuuuper cohesive. Can’t tell if you’re trying to be a streamer, a personality content creator, or a text / meme account creator? I don’t really see a cohesive image.

Things I DO like – your bio is fairly strong. I like that you have a logo for yourself, I like that you identify as an alt streamer. If whispered screaming is going to be a part of it, let’s make that more of a part of your brand as a whole. Random chats will seem scattered unless it’s “random chat tuesdays”. Also, in one of the videos you had a bit of a smokey eye – LOVED that.

Streaming content CAN work on TT. But right now your page has nothing that makes me go “oooooo, yes, THIS is the account I want to watch scary games being played and reviewed on.” If you have a cat, get the cat in videos a bit too – pets do well for the platform.

Sorry if this was mean! I think you have something going for you – you just need to refine it down and come up with 2-5 content pillars and make sure your videos sit well within those pillars for your brand.

Hey, I totally get how you feel, it’s tough seeing low-effort stuff blow up while your quality content struggles. TikTok’s weird like that; it cares more about watch time and “vibe” than polish.

Maybe try mixing in some more raw or casual clips to see what sticks. Sometimes the less edited, more natural stuff performs better. Keep experimenting, don’t stress the timeline, your loyal viewers mean you’re doing something right.

Between your stream clips and original vids, which ones seem to get the most engagement?
