We think Twitter/X will pass next.

For starters, there is now more real competition in the microblogging realm (Threads, BlueSky, and even Truth Social, despite our reservations), and the platform’s management has been inconsistent.

Not so long ago, Forbes reported that Threads surpassed Twitter/X on monthly active users, which, although it does not mean the platform is closing tomorrow, is an indicator of its decline.

Don’t even go that far: despite their efforts to position “X” as a brand, they are still clinging a little to the name “Twitter” because the rebranding didn’t go as expected…

Our two cents. We might be wrong though, maybe it will be Truth Social 🤷🏼‍♀️

Platforms which have too many bots. No one really posts much on Instagram anymore either comparatively, earlier there used to be monthly dumps, regular posts and stuff. Now people prefer authenticity and privacy.

I’d bet on Twitter/X. FB might be “boomer HQ,” but Groups and Marketplace keep it sticky. X has weaker network effects now. Brand safety issues, API shake-ups, news de-prioritized, and creators hedging on Threads/Bluesky. Feels more brittle.
