every couple years it feels like a big platform just falls off outta nowhere. like myspace, vine, google+, even tumblr kinda.

so which one of the big ones now (instagram, tiktok, facebook, twitter/x etc) do u think is gonna be next?

is it cause ppl just stop using it, or bad management, or like everyone moving somewhere else? curious what you all think.

I really hope instagram. It’s just the worst and everyone seems to hate it. It’s probably the least practical and the buggiest and least reliable for business. I’m really confused what keeps it on the top still.

I love Tumblr and I’m still active there. I already left Facebook, and I only check Instagram for girls. I’ll never install TikTok, but I’m very active on Twitter and Reddit.

In my bubble, Facebook should already be dead, but in reality Reddit is the closest to shut down and even that, is still far from a shut down

In my opinion Twitter. I used it regularly but in recent months a lot of people I followed have disappeared and there is almost no one interesting anymore and almost no one to “dialogue” with.

Once the boomers are gone Facebook will be too. Either that or 100% AI bot slop and won’t be worth spending money or energy there.

I think it depends on the country, depending on the region, more or less a social network is used, so there are places where he has already died and in others it is still used.

Threads? Are people actually using it? I just feel like Meta just shoved it down our throats and just auto posting things you put on instagram. I only use it because they embed it in instagram and I click on posts thinking it’s an instagram post. Am I alone on this? lol

Facebook is just AI slop. Twitter is Nazis all the way down. I can see a situation where no humans use them.

Facebook feels like it’s on borrowed time, at least with younger users. The vibe is stale, everyone’s parents are on it, and a lot of people only keep accounts for Messenger or old photos. It’ll probably stick around for a while, but it wouldn’t shock me if it quietly fades out as people jump to newer, faster apps.

Google+ never properly got off the ground. Absolutely no one, including Google, really even knew what it was supposed to be and nobodu really knew how to use it.

Tumblr is still around and gets 160 million visitors p/m which is kinda crazy as it’s been a long time since I’ve heard anyone talk about it for a decade or more.

I would have said Threads but it seems like it has gotten kind of popular lately, so maybe X. I only check X for weather and sports stuff occasionally since more real time and short to read.
