Which Campaign Objective Should I Choose in Goodgle Ads

The website is an ai tool website and google can track both signups and purchase on the website.
I started with leads, and a friend of my boss today told us that we should choose website traffic. He is pretty good on his own website google ads. And his website is also an ai tool website.
And I watched some tutorial video but most of them don't recommend website traffic…
What should I do, I actually think I should choose sales? I am going to be crazy!

Unless it is a PMax campaign, you don’t need to pick one.
