    Hi, aside from keyword planner, where do you look to find the best keywords that you need in running Google Search Ads?

    Build a chatGPT agent. No I’m not going to share the one I use but with a little thought, it’s not hard. Research keyword best practices, give it URLs and search themes, give it instructions, and go.

    Then its just lots of negative keyword filtering every week in account.

    You can use SEMrush for fresh research or to look at competitor keyword strategies. Or a Chat Bot to find relevant keywords for your and / or competitor landing pages / websites.

    If you’re running broad match you can also look at your searchterms report to identify new keywords to add.

    Another alternative source is google search autocomplete. For both positive and negative keyword ideas

    1. Look at your queries/search terms for high converting phrases that matched out, but you are not yet bidding on. This is the most “obvious” highest ROI approach.

    2. Tools like SEMRUSH you can examine competitors keyword lists for ideas.

    3. Look at competitors TITLE tags for ideas.

    4. Answerthepublic dot com is a great tool you can find a lot of long tail phrase ideas.

    Honestly keyword planner and data mining broad match campaigns will get you all the keywords you need. You can ask ChatGPT for some recs, but I usually find it’s only providing the same data I already found on my own.

    Search terms with performance + ahrefs/semrush.

    Since Google started hiding search terms, the keyword planner has been pretty crap so I would only use that as a small base to build from (don’t forecast from it because the numbers are way off). You can also look at GA4 for organic data.

    Aside from that, the other tips in here are good.

    Google’s auto complete is a handy tool. Chat gpt too. Ask it for keywords that potential customers of your service might look for

    Start with your highest intent search terms in your own query data because that reveals the patterns Google already trusts to match you with buyers

    Pretty much ever since phrase match started acting like broad having 4 or 5 keywords will pretty much covers all the search term u ever need. So looking for keywords is not important, what is important is having negative words.
    I make sure the keyword i pick is on my website, and I include near me and the city.
