When picking a niche to runn ads for would the price of the product or service count as part of the niche?

Like if you run ads for bicycle shops. But you only do it for bicycles that cost $500 or more. Would that be an effective unique selling proposition for your ad agency. Would that count as your niche.

I’m not sure about the bicycle example but I think you need different skills depending on what you’re advertising.

eg running profitable ads for a $10 item of clothing sold on an ecommerce store with a low mark up takes a very different set of skills to generating leads for a $xx xxx service.

I agree with Pete, but in answer to your question – in essence not really, but kind of. Let me explain…

By targeting something that’s at a premium price range you’re reducing the entire audience category, as you’d want to exclude ‘cheap bike’ keywords, but it’s not a ‘proper’ niche.

    So what is?…

A ‘proper’ niche would be a much more targeted version of the general category of bikes.
So if we’re sticking with that example it could be bikes designed for racing, vintage bikes from 1920 – 1980 or bikes designed for city living.
Then you’d apply your price criteria and further divide the audience you’re looking for.

By doing the above you’re looking at what I’d describe as a ‘proper’ niche or at the least the start of it.

    Hope this helps!

Simple answer yes. Complicated answer, it totally depends on the product, industry, and audience.

Sure, you can say you work in the luxury or high-end bicycle niche, although I’m not quite sure $500+ is very distinctive for bikes these days since that’s probably about average.

That said, you may be niching down too far in getting that specific. You might be more n interested in a bike shop’s revenue vs. average sale price.
