I feel like social media is full of “rules” post every day, stick to one niche, never delete old posts, always follow trends, etc. But honestly, some of those so-called rules just don’t work for everyone. I am curious has anyone here stopped following a popular piece of advice and actually seen better growth because of it? Would love to hear real experiences instead of textbook tips.

Consistency and relevancy are the only rules to stick to.

Stopped trying to post every day and focused on posting only when I had something worth saying.

Consistency advice is everywhere but nobody talks about the quality drop that comes from forcing content on a schedule. When I stopped, engagement actually went up because what I posted meant something.

The algorithm rewards engagement rate, not just frequency. A post that gets real reactions beats three posts that get nothing.

What rule did you stop following?
