  • What do affiliate marketers look for in a social media page/personality?

    Posted by seohelper on June 15, 2021 at 1:20 am

    I’m curious to see what companies/brands value when looking for a social media page to market their products

    Is it certain metrics like
    – Growth of followers
    – Average engagement
    – Average views/likes

    Or qualitative content like the quality of the content itself?

    I imagine its a combination of all of the above, but what is typically prioritised the most?

    Engagement count.
    Engagement to views ratio.
    WHAT the engagement is.
    Sentiment and tone.
    Audience location.
    Audience demos.

    300k views per insta post means nothing if you only get 15 comments. And they’re all “OMG you look so good baby”.

    Anyone that’s not perpretating a scam with you as the messenger is looking for evidence/validation that you have a genuinely engaged audience, that you have genuine influence in their eyes, and that you know who and where your audience is.

    For us, it’s

    * Correct niche
    * High-quality photography
    * Engagement rate
    * Follower count (but we will use micro-influencers from time to time with the right niche for a specific campaign)
    * Generally wholesome online presence (not too sweary, not racist, etc)
    * Actually knows and likes our products
    * Not currently promoting a direct competitor
    * If we’ve worked with you before, you communicate well and get stuff done on time

    The top four are the ones we typically reject folks for at a glance. The number of fitness influencers we get wanting to work with us (we’re not in the fitness industry) or those with overly saturated crap photography is bananas.
