What budget do I need to run a Google Ads Campaign

Posted by seohelper on July 3, 2020 at 7:19 pm

Hey guys, I’m wondering whether a budget of $300-$400 to run a Google Ads campaign is enough? Do you have any advice?

If you have a $2 CPC vs a 50 cent CPC you’re going to get way more clicks for 50 cents than for $2 with a $10/day budget. This is why it’s important to evaluate how competitive your keywords are. If there isn’t a ton of competition, your CPCs will likely be lower and you’ll get more bang for your buck.

You don’t need to have a high budget for Google Ads to work for you. But here are some considerations.

As somebody else pointed out, the CPC has a big impact on what your budget should be. If you’re offering university degrees you can expect to pay $80-100 CPC. A monthly budget of $300-400 will buy you 4-5 clicks. That’s not going to get you very far.

If, however, your average CPC is just $1, buying 300-400 clicks a month isn’t bad at all.

Why is having a larger budget better?

The more you spend the more conversions you get. As campaign optimization is based on conversions, you can fast track performance improvements when you spend more.

Here’s a post I wrote a long time ago about effective small budget campaigns: [https://www.tenthousandfootview.com/5-tips-effective-small-budget-adwords-campaign/](https://www.tenthousandfootview.com/5-tips-effective-small-budget-adwords-campaign/)
