  • What are some good places/platforms to find micro-influencers across a wide variety of niches?

I’m keen to find micro-influencers to work on some experiments with my startup. It would NOT involve promoting my startup, but using the tool we offer as part of their existing or future campaigns, or just to share information with their followers. I have a budget, but can only pay each influencer in the hundreds of $, not thousands, because we won’t be making money from this (we just want to learn from this experiment).

    Some brief requirements:

    – they should be in very specific niches, not broad niches like “travel” or “fashion”

    – they should really care about their niches, and have modest numbers but highly engaged followers

    – they probably don’t even think of themselves as “influencers”, just experts who make a few dollars while engaging with their followers on a topic/hobby they are passionate about.

I don’t like annoying people, which is why I don’t just pick some niches and start cold DM’ing dozens of people in the hope of getting a couple of responses. I would rather post somewhere and let those who are interested put up their hand. (I know, maybe I am not cut out for social media if I don’t like annoying people. haha).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for reading!

*p.s. if you want to suggest yourself as a niche influencer and you want to learn more, feel free to PM me, but let’s stick to the title and keep this thread for discussion of places where I might be able to find more of the right people.*

Every platform has micro influencers. There isn’t a central location or directory of these people. It’s going to take some good old searching and research on each platform.

FameBit might have been what you we’re looking for until YouTube acquired it.

    Heartbeat has nanoinfluencers (750 – 20k followers)
I have used their platform a few times with success.

Be very explicit of the type of content you want and don’t want.

The problem you’re going to run into is, the moment they sign up for a platform, is the same moment they start seeing themselves as influencers (or else they wouldn’t have signed up). For you to find the hidden gems (fewer but highly engaged followers, but also modest), you’re going to have to reach out to them to let them know that YOU see them as people who can influence others, even though they themselves may not.

We are working on a new product that provides a searchable directory of Instagram profiles. We have 3.4 million profiles to date and you could filter by the hashtags they post in, country, follower count, if they have listed emails and more! DM me if you want to find out more
