When I decided to take content creation seriously on TikTok I had 300 followers and a couple of videos. I didn’t have an established brand but had a general sense that I wanted to create lifestyle and beauty content.

The first 3 videos I posted after deciding to take content creation seriously went viral (13M+ combined views). My account jumped to about 6,000 followers. Since then, I figured out the niche I specifically want to do in beauty and have been creating content towards it. However, with six months of consistent posting, I’ve only grown my following to 7,100. My analytics show tiktok keeps testing my new content against the warm audience from those viral videos (who mostly engage with content similar to those videos) so the initial push ends up dying . My established niche content gets 1–5% FYP distribution with about 85% returning viewers.

I’m considering starting a fresh account so the algorithm learns my actual brand from day one. Would that be a smart move or should I just stick with my old account?

It doesn’t bode well that you don’t understand enough to be able to write out your own problem since this is clearly written by an LLM. I think if you learn enough to be able to write your own post then that alone would give you the answers that you seek.

starting fresh kills your algorithm momentum, learned that the hard way

You had 13M views across 3 videos around a specific hair situation and now the account is algorithmically locked to that topic but you want to build a broader beauty and lifestyle brand. The tension is not really about whether to start a new account. It is about whether the audience the algorithm built for you is reachable for content you actually want to make. What content have you tried posting since the viral videos and what did the performance look like compared to the original three?
