GuestApril 6, 2026 at 1:06 pm>… Of course, there are the scams who tout bullshit over there at other subreddits or LinkedIn, but good luck stopping those.
But those are stopped – what are you talking about – show me any spam in the sub
>But, should we limit our strategies and methodologies to just that? I don’t think so
SEOs dont dictate how google works
What exactly did I stop?
Are you saying I can’t debate what I see as patently wrong?
>
just don’t like the backlink acquisition part,Backlinks are a vital early form of authority – I didn’t say its a must
I shared a site that ranked to 1k SERP positions with <20 backlinks
I’ve also never engaged with you on this sub before – beginning to question your motives

GuestApril 6, 2026 at 1:06 pm1. He GIVES AWAY, FOR FREE, an unimaginable amount of time to this sub. Being a mod in a top sub is shitty work and thankless. I know, I did it long ago, and it was a PITA. For that alone, I give him a ton of grace.
2. Do I always agree with him? No, and that’s fine. He has been around SEO longer than most people here. There again, I give him grace. You don’t always have to agree with someone and it’s possible for them to be wrong sometimes, and them still be an asset. -

GuestApril 6, 2026 at 1:15 pmI get what you mean. Feels like he’s reacting more to the loud SEO hacks crowd than the people actually testing things seriously.
The fundamentals are non negotiable, but that doesn’t mean everything outside them is fake. Most of the real progress comes from people trying stuff that isn’t fully proven yet, even if half of it fails.
I think the annoying part is the tone. Calling everything outside a narrow lane useless just shuts down discussion. There’s a big difference between experimenting and straight up scamming, and lumping those together doesn’t really help anyone.

GuestApril 6, 2026 at 1:30 pmThe cope in this thread is literally some of the all time most I’ve ever seen.
The mod argues like an arrogant 12 year old and several people have posted about it.
Not to mention astroturfing every post with their specific opinion (evidenced by this post).
It’s toxic and harmful to the community. Would be better off saying nothing and letting open discussion happen. Sad to see an entire sub ruined by someone’s control issues.

GuestApril 6, 2026 at 1:34 pmHonestly, this is just the “gatekeeper” phase of every niche community. SEO is especially bad for it because the “right way” changes every time Google sneezes. I get why WebLinkr is annoying though the whole “if you don’t do it my way, it’s fake” attitude is exhausting when we’re all just out here trying to keep our heads above water with the latest updates. Real talk, half of SEO is just failing until something sticks, so acting like there’s only one holy path is kind of a reach. lol.
