Watching the reviewer who suspended my account (Misrepresentation of self or Product) Google Merchant account
I recently had my Google merchant account suspended for a policy violation (Misrepresentation of self or Product). I noticed that the Google employee who struck my site down visited the site 10 minutes prior to the suspension email being sent. This same thing happened for the person who reviewed the site after I had requested them to see my changes. Both of them came to the site by googling the homepage e.g. “http://website.com”.
The guy with the banhammer visited my homepage for 10 seconds, clicked the twitter and facebook links in the footer(I assume he opened them in new tabs), and then spent 3-5 mins on the contact page and Twitter/Facebook tabs before sending the suspension.
The 2nd reviewer visited the homepage for 5 minutes and then the contact page for 2-3 more before denying the re-approval.
SO, WHAT I’VE DONE SINCE:
-Removed my twitter/FB accounts that were pretty much unused.
-Moved my email/contact info to the top of the contact page and made it very obvious. It was previously below a page of FAQ questions, so users had to scroll to bottom of page. Prior to the ban, it was deeper within the various FAQ sections and much harder to find.I’m at a loss for what else they could possibly want on a contact page. Would Google really just want the contact moved to the top of the page like I did, or do they want a phone number in addition to the email & physical address?
