    Trying to decide the best placements for music ads. Is audience network viable? (Facebook Ads)

    So I started a campaign for a lyric video and I had it trimmed in the editor to 30 seconds for certain placements. I noticed that on the first day, the bulk of the ads were placed on audience networks and it got a lot of Thruplays.

    But the way I understand audience networks is that they’re the ads on third party apps (like games etc) where they force you to watch around 5-15 seconds before they let you skip or do anything else (pls correct me if Im wrong). That’s why I was a bit skeptical that i was getting a lot of 100% playthroughs on my lyric video. I feel like people were forced to go sit down and watch a 30 second video to use an app.. They didn’t exactly found my video interesting. That is my understanding of the situation.

    So I decided to take off audience netowork as a placement option for the ads and the thruplays growth rate has slowed (which I understand). I’m getting less 100% views but most of the placements are on instagram explore (which is like the facebook video feed if im not mistaken) so people can choose whether or not they wanna watch the entire 30 second trimmed lyric video.

    I’m planning on retargeting the people in this campaign who’ve watched at least 50% of the video. I just want to be sure that these people that I’m going to retarget weren’t forced to watch 50% of it. I want to be sure that it was on their own accord that they watched it because they found it intriguing.

    Are my assumptions correct? and am I doing this right? Thank you for your time.
