tried a bunch of ai video tools for social media and here’s what actually worked for me
Hey so i’ve only been playing with ai video tools for a couple months and figured i’d drop my notes here in case anyone else is trying to speed up their social content workflow. nothing fancy, just what i learned messing around with them.
here’s a quick rundown of the 5 i tried:
1. Synthesia
what it does: ai avatar videos
cool stuff: lots of avatar options, tons of languages
best for: explainer vids or product demos
my take: pretty solid but the avatars still feel a bit robotic sometimes. if you’re doing social ads with a talking head, it works though.2. InVideo
what it does: all in one video creator
cool stuff: templates, drag and drop, super beginner friendly
best for: youtube intros, reels, promos
my take: easy to learn, probably the fastest tool here. just feels a little limiting once you want more control.3. Runway ML
what it does: video from text, animates images, realistic scenes
cool stuff: the realism can get pretty wild
best for: more experimental content or when you want something that looks like an actual filmed scene
my take: super impressive tech but you do need to sit down and actually learn it.4. Hyper
what it does: quick text to short clips
cool stuff: insanely fast
best for: social posts, small ads, idea testing
my take: great for short stuff. not great for anything long form.5. Luma Dream Machine
what it does: realistic scene generation
cool stuff: handles complex visuals well
best for: lifelike b roll or concept visuals
my take: honestly impressive, but sometimes hit or miss depending on how clear your prompt is.and like obviously outside these, i’ve been using chatgpt a lot just to shape prompts or rough scripts before sending them into the actual video tools. nanobanana is another one i tested for quick outputs since it’s very plug and play. hailuou ai is nice for fast templated social posts too.
somewhere in between all that testing i also tried out domoai. didn’t really go in expecting anything since it doesn’t get talked about as much here, but the image to video feature kinda surprised me. especially when i wanted stylized motion instead of the hyper realistic stuff from runway or luma. tbh it just slipped into my workflow on days where i wanted something more visual without overthinking it.
most of these tools have free tiers so you can experiment without committing. and honestly the more specific your prompt is, the better everything turns out.
curious if anyone here used the same tools or something totally different. what’s been working for your social content?
p.s. not an expert, just sharing what actually worked for me
