Transitioning to another job elsewhere – Transferring Facebook pages to another profile/manager. Help!
Posted by on February 19, 2021 at 7:34 pmI know, I know. It’s a no-no to have business Facebook pages attached to our personal account.
I work at a university in the midwest and that was how things were set up, initially.
I am moving onto a different job with another company and am running into the issue of transferring page ownership/management of 50+/- pages. I need to do this so that when I DO leave, someone else can step in and go from there.
Part of my problem is that I don’t own all of these pages, but ghost admin them. They are for individual departments/offices on campus. This was done in order to still keep ahold of the page in case someone leaves. I’m running into issues where this keeps me from moving them all into Business Manager.
I thought about making an interim page that I could just hand over, but Facebook is now requiring that I show my ID in order to create an account, which I think is kind of invasive, but whatever. Another time another conversation.
What in the heck do I do from here? Do I create an account and change the information once it has been created? Try to claim all accounts?

Don’t they now HAVE to be tied to a personal account. I think the most important thing is to have multiple people in the organization admins of the pages. So if one leaves someone else can remove them or they can remove themselves without issue.
