Tools for reporting – why not analytics?

Posted by seohelper on January 15, 2021 at 3:26 pm

Hi everyone, we’re going through the process right now of identifying and evaluating reporting tools. One of my co-workers is strongly suggesting Whatagraph, and while I’ve done a little reading on it, I’m not sure that Whatagraph can do things that Analytics (GA4) and DataStudio can’t do for free. Are there any major differences that I should be aware of? Is one considerably more easy to create custom reports in? We’d be looking for a holistic reporting tool, to measure almost all of our activities. I work for a university college and we’re looking to create reports for each of our programs to see how our advertising campaigns are performing. Any help would be appreciated!

Looks like Wathagrap is a small company, with little reviews, focused on non-tech savvy people wanting reports. I’d suggest sticking with Datastudio.

    Yeah you want analytics.
Do you want a platform with such deep reporting, im still learning new things after 4 years of suing it, with literally over a decade of development. Or something that makes pretty graphs based on basic user data.

Google Analytics is the hands down king in analytics reporting, althouhg I suggest you make a universal analytics property, instead of GA 4. There are options for this in the setup, GA4 isnt really supported by many people yet.

We use Swydo for our client reporting. It’s way faster and easier than Analytics and/or Datastudio.

Speed is important when you have say 100 reports to crank out.

The main way it saves time is it is template-based and reports can be generated automatically, plus it has a dashboard feature.
