Tips for a new non-profit

I’ve started doing social media work for a new non-profit and I was just wondering what are some of your tips to maximize the success of a non-profit(get more donations) using social media?
So far we’ve raised some donations, but I think almost all of those were via our pre-existing connections. How do we find new donors/get new people to engage with our org?

If there’s budget, you could do an ad. Or if you’re sticking to organic only, post lots of info style stuff that people are likely to share (ask them to share too) and then when you see new followers appear, get the ‘give us money’ posts up.
