Platforms can change their algorithms at any point in time. Also new accounts get better “viral” push, this is how they hook you so you basically keep resetting that viral push when you make new accounts.

Speculatively TikTok might finally start throttling content, I know for sure they are throttling anyone who is part of the creators program.

my friend’s account has 150k followers, went from 10-30k views on videos to 500-100 the last 2 weeks. Literally he was just saying how he thinks he is shadow banned or something is weird going on on TikTok with their views. Could just just be the holidays or something too affecting it.

This gets asked over and over and over and over and over again here.

TikTok works like this, when you have a new account, they show your videos to a lot of people. It’s a way to get you hooked because you’re all excited, “WOW SO MANY PEOPLE LOVE MY VIDEOS!” But, unless your engagement rates are VERY high, they don’t continue it.

So you should look not at your view count for those previous videos but at the engagement rate. Did you have one 30-50% engagement rate (likes/comments) compared to your view count? If not, there’s your answer. Your content wasn’t actually engaging.

TikTok has very high requirements to maintaining engagement and being seen. They know that people have a stupidly short attention span and that if they’re not showing them truly engaging content they’ll go elsewhere quick.

I disagree with most of these answers about favoring new accounts. They favor your first 5 videos to fit you to an algorithm, but if that were truly the case, they’d be sending creators who do this for a living packing. This phenomenon is affecting all platforms big and small, and it happens every few months, though this one has been particularly long. In my opinion they are tinkering with the algorithm to make it better, it will likely go back to normal in a few weeks.

I’ve noticed something similar, I usually range 20-50k views, but my last few vids have taken a few days to get past 10k (one vid has 3300 likes and only 10.1k views which is very strange for my account), I thought maybe it was due to people being on winter vacation or something, idk

The same vids barely breaking 10k on tik tok have easily gotten to 25k on insta (reels) on an account that has over 12 times less followers than my tik tok

Came here to ask about this… even when I’m getting insane engagement rates, I’m still not getting more than 100 views. A recent video of mine has 43 likes with 105 views and it just stopped getting any views. My most recent one from 8 hours ago has 2 views and 2 likes * shrug * their algorithm is a crap shoot these days

My tiktok (kayliingonzalezz) barely reaches 10 at points with the max of 300 then it seems i get shadow banned and i always censor my content and don’t violate guidelines and i post often with an occasional added video or two of a trend i saw and liked i’ve been trying to gain my following but it won’t budge 🙁
