I’m trying to improve our tik tok marketing strategy and was reading up on others that have found success. A lot of them mention using trending sounds but the only place i’ve been able to find what sounds are trending is on tokboard. I can’t tell how good their data is and was wondering if anyone here used tokboard for finding trending sounds? If so, please let me know if it was a good or bad experience!

I honestly feel like the best way to be successful on Tiktok is to understand the culture which means just watching and participating. The sounds in trending videos will come across the fyp and you’ll know what works and what doesn’t.

The best way is to to actively use TikTok, follow larger accounts that you know are really on top of trend hopping, check what songs are trending via discover and then tap the song names to see what other content is using that audio.

That said, as a regular user, unless it’s truly good content, I can’t imagine following a brand that is trend hopping.

and from an account management perspective, take advantage of the music trends while you can, because depending on the size of your account, they will block you from using copyrighted music entirely. Happened to me around 1.2M followers and basically kneecapped my account growth. I tired to appeal since I’m technically a “creator”, but they classified me as a brand…so I’ve reduced my TikTok output at this point.

In my experience trending audio (or even hashtags) have a minimal impact on your success. I’d be less than half a percent of my views come from either. Focus on content with a great hook and cut out any fluff and add value and that should do the trick.

This is actually pretty simple. “trending” is one of the music categories. You’ll see it when you to to select music for your video. Many tik tok coaches tell users to always pick the number 1 trend, regardless of whether it goes with the video. Some people choose the number 1 trend and turn the music volume all the way down.

That being said, I too find this confusing. Some of the trends are like 6 seconds. And if you have a nice 60 second video, you likely aren’t going to see anything trending for that length of time. I notice most are around 15 seconds.

Also, sometimes it is the video that is trending, not the music. So, they’ll tag the music with a really hot video as trending, but if you’ve been watching tik toks you’ll recognize some of the music as going with specific trends.

    Good luck.
