Thoughts on Instagrams new post sizing?

Are you taking down old posts or just leaving the weird crops? Reformatting anything or rolling with it?
Also curious if you think they’ll keep stretching the frame to grab more feed real estate, or if this is where it stops.

Honestly, I haven’t really noticed.
We optimized when the initial 1:1 to 3:4 change happened and this one doesn’t feel like enough to warrant an additional change.
I think the size increases will continue though. -

Feels like Instagram keeps chasing more feed real estate. I wouldn’t bother deleting old posts just roll with it and see how things shake out. Most people probably scroll past weird crops anyway.

The 4:5 is actually an advantage because it takes up more space in your feed and captures attention better than the classic square. I wouldn’t touch old posts, dated content doesn’t penalize you, but from now on it’s better to produce everything optimized on that format: practical example, a 4:5 carousel covers almost half a screen and increases the dwell time. The logic is simple: if Instagram pushes a layout, riding it gives you free reach.

I’m just rolling with it. Not worth reformatting everything old. Feels like IG is always tweaking layouts anyway, so better to adapt going forward than stress over past posts.
