    So many speculations around AI visibility these days.

    And as SEO, i needed more clarity.

    So, to have a clarity, i dug into some 25+ academic research papers on what influences AI-driven search, and how to tweak your contents accordingly.

    The TLDR is-

    • Adding QUOTES
    • Adding STATS
    • CITING credible sources
    • AUTHORITATIVE writing style
    • SIMPLE sentence structure

    Ofcourse there are other factors in play, but these are, as per those papers the most important if you want your content to be cited and to influence the answers of AI.

    Focus on SEO best practices first. By doing this you accomplish much of what affects AI citation visibility. Plus you’re working on to increase Google organic and AI overview visibility which is probably where most of your traffic will come from for a while. I have found some tactics that influence AI citations beyond what good SEO alone provides. I know that schema is of debatable value by some, but I have found it effective in influencing AI citations. Citations sometimes pull data from my schema that isn’t included in the page HTML body. I’ve even managed to win citations with links in ChatGPT which is more difficult than other LLMs due to its strong bias towards citing trusted national providers over local businesses like mine even when a geographical reference is included in the query.

    I dig into real SEO experience and I can tell you confidently that what the 25+ academic research papers you read are bullshit.

    AI Visibility = SEO = Authority.

    I think 95% of getting seen by search engines is good SEO and then the final 5% is tweaking it a bit so the large language models like it.

    As you say in your post, I think you summarize some of the key points really well. Thanks for sharing your findings
