You can have one writer or author and still out rank a website with multiple writers, as long as your backlink profile is legit and no surge in spammy links or suspicious link spikes. All backlinks from quality sites.

I say this because I saw Rolling Stone post a Spammy article it showed up on Top Stories when I searched for a UFC fight, It was title $%#@LiveSTREAM@#$# UFC Watch NOW $@$@

Rolling Stone is a high authority website that doesn't cover sports but Music and Entertainment, they had parasitic spam, yet still appeared in Top Stories, showing Content is not King, its all about the Backlinks.

Ive seen this with a ton of EDU sites too, if you type in a sporting event or movie they will appear in Top Stories with parasitic spam. for example say UCLA college edu site shows up for a Boxing event Tyson vs Jake Paul search, or a Lakers game search, they can have a spam article with the title !$@$@ WATCH Tyson vs Paul!$%% Live Stream NOW%#%# and it will appear in top stories because they are considered a reputable educational website.

Also these spammy articles will be up for a day or two during the event before they get removed. They usually link to a pirate stream site.

So Do follow Quality Backlinks are the only way to go, the downside is they are also the hardest to acquire.

you are using anecdotal stories. not proof this is the case for all situations. Rolling Stone is a respected news source for music and a household name. and you are talking about Top Stories. I would imagine anything they write is a top story; music, sports, etc.

news stories only live on google news for 48 hours. that’s how google news works for all sites. the author would need to change the URL to get that page back on the news feed for another 48 hours

I have some product pages that rank higher than sites that have been around 10x longer and have 20x more quality links than I have. explain that

the answer is: it isn’t that simple. the algorithm isn’t: site A has more X than site B so site A ranks higher 100% of the time. there are thousands of ranking factors that are taken in account for every situation. no two would ever be the same

as important backlinks are, their are other factors that go into the equation. and no one thinks ‘content is king’. that is just a phrase that people like to refer to

Absolutely right – hit the nail on the head – this is exactly right

100% – backlinks are the unobtanium of SEO, the Gold Reserve Standard, the diamonds. Their rarity and lack of ability to “print your own” is what makes SEO and PageRank Tick

Just say links lol. You don’t have to add do follow. Everyone knows nofollow doesn’t hold the same equity but it does hold weight in AI if well placed in a ranking high interaction value site.

Sounds like you have answered my question i’m about to make but still want to make it:
Does it matter if the dofollow links are of the same industry or not?

You said: live stream pirate site – backlinks on edu sites or rolling stone website etc.

My example: fintech company: backlinks on directories, random non fintech related websites.

So question is: are this type of backlinks worthy?

** Let’s assume all backlinks will come from high authority websites with 50+ DA/DR and have a considerable amount of traffic each month***
