    Text only Pmax Ads?

Posted by rishibansal97 on October 15, 2025 at 6:56 am

Have someone tried a Pmax campaign which only enables text based google search ads? While deprioritising YouTube and other visual ads?

Can it be enabled by providing minimal visual assets?

Can you please share your experience and potential pitfalls in this case?

You can run Pmax mostly with text, but Google will still try other formats. Pitfalls lower performance, slower learning, and limited control over placements. For pure search, a standard Search campaign might be more predictable.

You can technically run a PMax campaign with minimal images and no uploaded video, making it mostly text-based, but Google will still auto-generate visuals and serve across all channels. This setup can work for testing intent coverage but often leads to poor creative performance and wasted spend outside Search.

    Content suitability is your answer.

Yes you can limit assets to text and one logo to force PMAX toward Search but it still serves some Display and YouTube impressions expect lower volume but tighter intent and steadier CPL.
