Since you should never put all your eggs in one basket, I’ve been thinking a lot more on how does one manage to promote a more technical type of articles on social media. And I’m not talking about ’10 ways that you can use your keyboard as a headrest’ type of article, but something like a managed Ethernet switch test (such as one would find on the SmallNetBuilder). Facebook doesn’t like them, nor does Instagram or Pinterest and Twitter perhaps a bit more although the exposure is almost zero there as well. This seems to be a niche that a lot people are interest in, but nobody wants to see it on their social media feed. What are your thoughts on this subject?

I’d like to think that every niche has a community somewhere, you just have to find it. For Facebook, I would try looking at different Facebook groups with small but active user bases. That’ll get you some traction, plus keep connecting you with more people.

Instagram/Twitter won’t be very useful IMO, but Pinterest definitely has potential. Also Reddit is probably a great place for niche content, so definitely make sure to look through some of the communities on here. LinkedIn also maybe that’s up to you and how you would market it
