Some Amateurish Questions on Keyword Research, Adsense Revenue etc
So for the longest time, I’ve pretty much used the Adwords Keyword Planner tool to estimate searches for specific keywords to figure out the best content to add, and how to best optimize my content. I have also used Ubersuggest for the same purpose.
My question is, what exactly does the pricing mentioned in either of those tools actually mean? Ubersuggest seems more straight-forward. Giving an estimated CPC. But I’m seeing wildly different numbers in the Adwords tool depending on keyword. Is that actually showing me my average revenue for a click, excluding Google’s cut? That number SORT OF works out to what I’m seeing, so I guess that might be it? I’m probably overthinking this.
Another random question is, how effective is targeting for multiple keywords in an article, ACTUALLY? Random example: “Shell Fish”, with another keyword targeting “List of shellfish” maybe in a heading and put into the page a few times. When should one simply make an entirely different page or article, rather than trying to squeeze multiple keywords into one page? This is something that’s always perplexed me tbh. I see tons of suggested keywords in Keyword Planner where you put in your site url and it spits out a ton of ideas. And it’s like, “Okay, I have a bunch of pages where I can integrate that keyword where I didn’t specifically target it. BUT, is it worth now going back and adding it, or would I be better off shoehorning it into something else?
Random example again:
Take this page on my site: targets4free .com/category/project-appleseed-targets/
All of those are shooting target drills, though more specifically, targets from “Project Appleseed”. I’ve tried doing tags like “Drill Targets”, where I may also have it in a broader category called “Competition Targets”. But is there any reason to shoehorn “Drill Targets” into that page’s description? Because in my mind, no one is going to find this page by searching for that term, so what would be the point? No, a page with “Drill Targets” in the title, would be much more likely to rank as far as I can tell. Maybe you guys know what I’m getting at here, but I’m terrible at articulating what I’m trying to ask lmao.
