Social Media in the education sector and interview advice
Hi guys!
After a long job search I’ve landed an interview as the social media guy for a university. If I get it I’ll be the only guy responsible for a social strategy to drive student recruitment as far as I’m aware. I’ve been doing research and right now pretty much all the university’s platforms are dead, the fb clearly has many paid likes with little engagement, etc. I have lots of ideas for how to improve, and I’m following many competitors for inspiration.
However, I have no paid experience in social media marketing. Of course I’ve done a lot of research so have a pretty good idea what I’m doing, but I’d love some advice as I’m a bit nervous lol. In the interview I will have the chance to talk about a possible strategy, and while I don’t have access to their metrics or anything I’ll be talking about the brand, audience, objectives and kpis as well as campaigns I’d like to run. Have I missed anything?
Does anyone have any advice for me for the interview? What are some typical questions I should expect to be asked? Does anyone have any experience of being the only social media guy at a educational institution or similar, and what a typical day might look like?
Thank you!
