Hi everyone. What are your thoughts about Mention as a social listening and research tool? Have anyone tried it?

I’m looking for a listening tool to measure the brand perception by analyzing spontaneous mention on social media. Does anybody have a suggestion?

Most of these tools are pretty expensive but you could use crowdfire which offers brand mentioned so you know when people are talking about whatever brand you select to monitor. I believe that you could get crowdfire for really cheap if you’re not going to use it for a lot of accounts. And you might be able to find a lifetime deal on a deal website like appsumo.

A second tool that is similar is aischedul which also offers to monitor brands but I think they only work with Instagram.

Brandwatch, Synthesio, Talkwalker, Crimson Hexagon or Meltwater – these are all survivors of social media listening industry and should be pretty good.

For general brand mentions tracking – any that will fit your budget and offer best support service (this one is the main differentiator really).

If your brand mentions happen mostly in US and on most popular platforms/forums.

If you need Eastern Europe or Asia – you need to look for specialized players

I suggest Lithium, Hootsuite, Google alert and Brandwatch!
